40 hrs/wk

Monday - Friday

8am - 5pm

Position Highlights:

The Nebraska Medicine Ear, Nose & Throat Department is home to a fast-paced, multidisciplinary clinic serving populations ranging from children to older adults! Specialized teams within ENT include our Sinus Team, Neurotology Team, Laryngology Team, Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Team, and General ENT. Our clinic is open Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays! Our hours of operation are typically 8AM-4:30PM. We run Tuesday procedural clinics that start at 7AM and offer early morning and lunch appointments on Fridays to accommodate our patients & their busy schedules. Our staff is cross trained to provide support at all three of our clinic locations: Lauritzen Outpatient Center on Nebraska Medicine main campus, Village Pointe and the Bellevue Medical Center, which will soon transition to Twin Creek in 2023!

Our clinic supports 14 surgeons and 9 Advanced Practice Providers and this group continues to grow! Our Providers are amazing educators and leaders! Although we continue to expand, we take pride in creating a family-like environment that makes our patients feel safe and well cared for.

Our RNs, LPNs, & Medical Assistants are a valued and important part of our clinic providing hands-on support for our providers with their patients. Responsibilities of this position include greeting our patients, measuring vital signs, & performing chart checks via the EPIC charting system, collecting outside clinical information for patient visits, & supporting our clinicians in the rooms with procedures. Our LPN/MAs receive specialty training within the specialty team they are hired to support. All our LPN/MAs are competent in high level disinfection (HLD) of our specialized diagnostic scoping equipment. You will receive training on this important part of the position.

LPN
Provide nursing care and identified clinical support tasks within the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) scope of practice for achievement of the patient's plan of care in conjunction with the registered nurse and/or medical staff.

Required Qualifications:

* Graduate from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
* Demonstrate effective communication skills required.
* Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork and flexibility required.
* Currently licensed as a practical nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in a physician's office preferred. Experience in setting related to clinic setting preferred.
* Proficiency in secondary language preferred.
* Participate in performance improvement activities preferred.

MA

Provides the highest quality of customer service for patients and others by performing all duties in a professional and engaging manner. Provide quality care to patients, under the direction of licensed practitioners, promote efficient operation of the clinic, and provide assistance to physicians and support staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program required.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire.
  • If required to administer medications, current Medication Aid Registry listing or completed within first 30 days of hire or transfer date, and maintained thereafter required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a physician's office preferred.
  • Experience in a related area preferred.
  • Ability to be bilingual in English and Spanish for working in certain clinics preferred.
  • Medical assistant certification preferred.
  • Medical Scribe experience preferred.
