Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as an EEG Technologist or a Neurodiagnostic Technologist!

Duties: EEG Technologist

The electroencephalographic (EEG) technologist has the knowledge base to interact with the patient and obtain a quality, interpretable EEG recording that will yield information about the brain's neuronal activity. The technologist possesses the appropriate knowledge level of diseases to correlate patient history and clinical symptoms to determine appropriate maneuvers to be performed during the EEG. Studies include routine EEGs, Long-Term Video EEG Monitoring, Intensive Care Unit monitoring and Intraoperative EEG recording for varying levels of patient acuity and age associated with a Level Four Epilepsy Center.


Required Qualifications: EEG Technologist

  • One year EEG experience required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Strong PC skills and Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Registry by American Board of Registry for Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) or equivalency required. If equivalency, ABRET required within 12 months of transfer or hire.


Preferred Qualifications: EEG Technologist

  • Graduate from an Electroneurodiagnostic program, preferred.

Duties: Neurodiagnostic Technologist

Provide neurodiagnostic testing in the EEG lab for varying levels of patient acuity and age associated with an academic level 4 epilepsy center and neuromuscular program. The Neurodiagnostic technologist requires knowledge in anatomy, physiology and pathology of the brain, spinal cord, cranial nerves, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction, muscles and autonomic nerves.

Required Qualifications: Neurodiagnostic Technologist

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of neurodiagnostic experience or graduate of electrodiagnostic program or graduate of a neurosciences related degree program required.
  • Strong PC Skills and Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.


Preferred Qualifications: Neurodiagnostic Technologist

  • Experience in health sciences related field preferred.
  • Associate's degree in the sciences or biotechnical study preferred.
  • Formal neurodiagnostic training or equivalent preferred.
  • Registry from American Board of Registry for Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET), American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM) or American Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) preferred.
