Clinical Psychologist

Position Highlights:

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Clinical Psychologist. Clinical psychologists at Nebraska Medicine play an integral part of healing and serving our patients; they provide evidence-based psychological services (e.g., evaluation, diagnosis, consultation and treatment) to patients within the organization and affiliated institutions using a biopsychosocial approach in concert with other members of the patient's health care team for the purpose of preventing or eliminating symptomatic, maladaptive, or undesired behavior and/or facilitating adaptation to physical illness, accident, or injury. We partner with our physicians, nurses and other hospital staff to provide the best Serious Medicine and Extraordinary Care available in the region.

This specific role will be split 50/50 between the Psychology Department and the new Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Clinic. The clinical psychologist will conduct screening, initial evaluation, brief psychological interventions, and interdisciplinary care consultation for patients referred to the IBD clinic. Additionally, there are research opportunities associated with this role. The clinical psychologist will also conduct pre-surgical (bariatric, transplant) evaluations and see psychiatric outpatients in the Psychology Department.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA- or CPA-accredited institution, have completed an APA- or CPA-accredited predoctoral internship, and be licensed (or license-eligible) as a psychologist in the state of Nebraska. Individuals with a provisional Nebraska license (PLP) will also be considered. See required licensure requirement below. Applicants with prior hospital-based and/or clinical health psychology experience are especially invited to apply.

Shift:

  • Full Time and benefits eligible (1.0 FTE / Salaried- Exempt role)

  • Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • No weekends/No on-call

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited OR equivalent doctoral program with an APA/CPA accredited OR equivalent doctoral internship required.

  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required.

  • Independent problem-solving skills and self-directed work experience required.

  • Licensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Nebraska, or provisionally licensed in the state of Nebraska with the ability to obtain a license in 24 months required.
