Job Description

Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for talented individuals to join us as a Retail/Outpatient Pharmacist.  The Retail/Outpatient Pharmacist at Nebraska Medicine plays an integral part of healing and serving our patients.   

We partner with our physicians, nurses and other hospital staff to provide the best Serious Medicine and Extra Ordinary Care available in the region.

The current positions are available for PRN/Casual (0.0 FTE). The current positions are available for PRN/Casual (0.0 FTE). The shifts will be varied working a combination of days, evenings, and weekends. One would expect to work 3-5 shifts per month.  Candidates with good availability to cover shifts are highly preferred.

Working with the healthcare team, prepare, dispense, and distribute medication and provide clinical monitoring and drug information in a manner, which ensures optimal patient care. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations pertaining dispensing and maintenance of records. Provide direction and assist with organization of daily activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program OR possess a Bachelor or Master of pharmacy degree with 10 years of experience required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with hospital staff and patients required.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills and use of typical office equipment required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Outpatient hospital pharmacy experience or retail pharmacy experience preferred.
  • American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited postgraduate year one residency preferred.
  • Experience with hospital EMR and pharmacy applications preferred.
  • Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification as deemed appropriate and relevant to practice preferred.
