Nebraska Medicine is recruiting a Psychologist with leadership experience to manage its Psychology Department and Pain Management Program. Responsibilities include leadership in all areas of human resource management, clinical supervision, budget management, performance improvement, marketing, business development, and strategic planning for two departments with 22 FTE's including professional and administrative staff. The psychologist will also maintain a clinical caseload. The Psychology Department, with 10 full-time clinical psychologists, a postdoctoral fellow and two psychology interns, is a dynamic, collaborative and growing service responsible for outpatient and inpatient evaluation, consultation, and treatment for patients from several multidisciplinary teams within the hospital, including Bariatric Surgery, Transplantation Services, Oncology, Psychiatry and Primary Care. The Pain Management Program is a multidisciplinary, four-week, daylong treatment program, designed to help individuals with chronic non-malignant pain. Nebraska Medicine is the teaching hospital for the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the largest healthcare facility and only public academic health science center in Nebraska.
Direct, plan, and coordinate the operations of assigned departments and programs. Achieve department and organizational goals and ensure optimal outcomes for designated patient populations within approved operating budget. Responsible for the hiring, firing, counseling and evaluation of department staff. Initiate and maintain effective intra and inter-departmental communication to promote positive relations. Additionally, independently provide psychological services (e.g., evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and consultation) to patients within the organization and affiliated institutions.
