Job Description

Responsible and accountable for controlling, operating, maintaining and upgrading building utility systems and plant operations equipment of the highest complexity for the organizations facilities and satellite clinics in order to maintain a reliable, safe and cost effective facility. Oversees the installation, maintenance and operation of building control systems to meet all stated objectives related to energy management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of plant operations experience to include programming and operation of computerized building automation systems used to control HVAC, building utility, and plant operations equipment required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to work with tools arid test instruments required.
  • Knowledge of plant operations and systems (e.g., heating, cooling, ventilation, electrical , medical gas, sanitation, potable water, building utility, plant operations equipment, etc.) required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve problems and make decisions while working in stressful situations required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with a variety of customers (e.g., patient care providers, patients, visitors, management, etc.) required.
  • Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance functions required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Universal EPA Certificate for handling, using and reclaiming CFC refrigerants required.
  • Current valid motor vehicle operator license and ability to meet and maintain insurability required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a healthcare setting in plant operations building systems controls preferred.
  • Associates degree in engineering technology or related field preferred.
  • Successful completion of manufacturer training or technical schooling on DDC controls and pneumatic controls for HVAC equipment and systems preferred.
  • Licensed 3 Grade Stationary Engineer in the City of Omaha preferred.
