Coordinate the required resources for patient care delivery. Problem-solve and expedite communication with other health care providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Provide, delegate, and coordinate resources required to meet the holistic care needs of the procedural patients. Ensure provider satisfaction and resolve issues in a timely manner.  Participate in the coordination, implementation and evaluation processes to meet the education and competency needs of procedural team members through effective use of a variety of learning activities.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three years sterile processing, operating room surgical technologist or operating room nurse experience required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Bachelors degree in related field required.
  • Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) within 12 months of transfer or hire.
  • Experience using Steam, PC, laser printer, bar code scanner, bar code printer, Washer and Nitrogen Tank, Washer/Decontamination Unit, and Heat Sealer Biological Auto reader required.
  • Communication skills, written and verbal required.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel program skills required.
  • Certified by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materials Management (IAHCSMM) within 12 months of hire or transfer date required.
  • Certification as a surgical technologist (CST) within 12 months of transfer or hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Materials management/supply chain experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Aptitude for electronics troubleshooting preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills with previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate problem solving and decision-making skills preferred.
  • Organization (e.g., ability to multi-task and prioritize, attention to detail, time management) preferred.
  • Knowledge of current trends in sterile processing practices and healthcare supply systems preferred.
