Job Description

Prepare high quality food for patient tray line, retail areas and catering following standardized recipes and using proper safety and sanitation procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • Minimum of two years cooking experience in a high volume food production environment required.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate all kitchen equipment (e.g., thermometers, meat slicer, microwave, blast chiller, food processor, combi oven, rotary oven, Blodgett oven, steam-jacketed kettle, rotisserie ovens, grill, broiler, scales, mixers, convection steamers, mandolin, buffalo chopper, bain marie, burre mixer, deep fryers, proofers, food warmers, knives, etc.) required.
  • Hospital phone system and basic computer skills required.
  • Successful completion of the Douglas County Food Handlers test within 60 days of hire or transfer date and maintain biannually required. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Formal culinary apprenticeship through the American Culinary Foundation preferred.
  • Menu development knowledge and ability to create new culinary ideas preferred.
