The Certified Medical Assistant assists physicians in daily activities such as preparing patients for examination, phlebotomy, injections, assisting providers with entering medication, laboratory and radiology orders, scheduling diagnostic tests and making and receiving phone calls.
High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited program is required.
6 months previous medical assistant experience preferred.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required.
Medication Aide Registry (MA) required.
Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures required.
Knowledge of medicine including recognizing and diagnosed diseases, deformities, and other illnesses.
