- Education
- Graduate from an approved American Medical Association (AMA) school of Radiologic Technology required.
- Participates in mandatory in-services and continuing education as mandated by policies & procedures/ external agencies & as directed by supervisors.
Experience- 1 year of prior experience working as a CAT Scan Technologist
- Or
- Completion of a MRI Externship through an approved MRI school.
- Prior Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) experience preferred.
License/Certifications- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Radiologic Technology required.
- ARRT registered in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), required. Technologists who are Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) board eligible will be considered with the understanding that registry will be passed within 6 months.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with hospital personnel, patients, co-workers, and the public.
- Ability to perform numerous tasks at once.
- Proficient with working with patients of all ages (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adult and elderly.)
- Knowledge of other modalities or willing to gain knowledge of other modalities as requested for the potential of cross-training opportunities.
- Possess a working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and understand the basis of computer operation.
- Knowledge of MRI principles and concepts.
