Description

  • Purpose of Job
    • Works under the supervision of the Lead Maintenance Engineer. Learns to operate and/or maintains all mechanical equipment in association with production and building operations.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • High school graduate or equivalent required.

    • Experience
      • Experience in industrial maintenance a plus but not required.

    • License/Certifications
      • Must successfully complete Back School, an in-service and demonstration of safe body mechanics, within 90 days of hire, and annually thereafter.
      • Must be able to pass the city of Omaha's requirement to obtain a third grade engineer license within no less than 18 months.
      • Must have a valid driver's license.
      • Must meet approval requirements of current company insurance carrier.
      • Must be able to obtain, within the first 90 days of employment, a classification of authorized as it applies to Shared Service System's Energy Lockout/Tag out Procedure.
      • Must successfully complete forklift, Motorized Pallet Jack and scissors Lift certification with a score of 80% within 30 days.

    • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
      • Ability to understand, read, speak and write English to the level normally acquired by completing the 12th grade.
      • Must have own hand tools. Specialty tools will be provided.
      • Must be able to lift over 75 pounds.
      • Must be able to work with engineers and learn to diagnose electrical, and electronic circuits and repair and/or replace as required.
      • Must be able to learn to mig weld and operate an oxygen/acetylene torch.
      • Must be able to learn to read and comprehend various schematics (wiring, hydraulic and pneumatic).

  • Essential Job Functions
    • Essential Functions I

      • Will learn boiler operation, boiler chemical testing and boiler prep and repair for inspecting. total boiler upkeep and appearance.

      • Will learn to perform all building and equipment electrical service needs and the installing telephone and data cabling.

      • Will learn to operate all building heating and cooling systems and all associated equipment.

      • Responsible for all production equipment repairs and maintenance as assigned.

      • Completes all required preventative maintenance assignments on time and in a complete manner.

      • Responsible for working and operating equipment in a way in which safety rules and policies are followed.

      • Must act promptly to service calls and production needs to minimize downtime.

      • Participates in mandatory in-services and/or continual education programs as mandated by policies and procedures or external agencies, and as directed by management.

      • Follows and understands the mission, vision, core values, Employee Standards of Behavior and company policies/procedures.

      • Other duties as assigned.

    • Essential Functions II
