Job Description

  • Purpose of Job
    • Plans, develops, organizes, executes and measures marketing campaigns that reinforce the college brand, create strong college awareness, and generates qualified inquiries. Collaborates with other departments to develop, implement and measure and provide recommendation for specialized campaigns and tactics that promote student communications and retention advance the college mission, and attracts and retains students. Works with other departments in a way that facilitates, streamlines and improves internal communication. Directs the work activities of internal Marketing employees, assigned outside agencies, independent contractors and freelancers. Activities include social media, internet advertising, web design, print collateral, inbound marketing, direct marketing and more. Manages marketing and communications projects of high complexity.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, advertising, graphic design, internet marketing or related field required.

    • Experience
      • Minimum 3-5 years of progressively responsible work experience in multiple aspects of marketing, advertising and promotion that demonstrates analytical and creative thinking and problem solving skills required.

    • License/Certifications
      • HubSpot certifications preferred.

    • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
      • Ability to manage projects including oversight of the production schedule.
      • Ability to assist and organize the marketing needs of faculty and staff.
      • Ability to manage budgets, specifically marketing, including tracking of expenditures.
      • Strong interpersonal skills to efficiently work with an advancement team made up of Marketing, Admissions, and Alumni departments.
      • Substantial internet marketing skills including a strong understanding and use of complex content management systems, automated marketing systems, search engine optimization, retargeting, landing page design and measurement, Google analytics, and other marketing measurement, tracking, and workflow communications systems.
      • Significant writing communication skills in a variety of media including web, print collateral and direct mail, newspaper/magazine, blogs, e-mail, press releases and other forms of written communication.
      • Highly organized and able to prioritize, work across multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
      • Highly proficient in word processing, presentation, spreadsheet applications, databases, analysis and marketing software.
      • Strong relationship management skills; ability to foster collaboration, value other perspectives gain support/buy-in and influence positive outcomes.
      • High level of critical thinking and analytical skills, attention to detail, advanced communication, writing and grammar skills.

  • Essential Job Functions
    • Manages marketing staff positions (Graphic Designer, Marketing Communications Specialist) and serves as account representative and project coordinator for marketing department. Develops and maintains deadlines for marketing timelines, workflows, and deliverable(s).

    • Collaborates and establishes with leadership, the oversight and reporting market data analysis and evaluation.

    • Collaborates with cross-functional teams: from creative, IT and production to product marketing and legal"to produce effective promotional materials. Serves as liaison to other departments who requiring marketing expertise, and collaborates with departments while managing, organizing, and coordinating available marketing resources to achieve successful outcomes, solutions, and projects.

    • Develops pricing and budgetary strategies. Coordinates and manages the work activities of assigned outside agency partners, vendors, freelancers, and team participants to ensure the successful outcomes of marketing campaigns and plans to ensure completion of initiatives on time and on budget.

    • Works with and for Vice President for Enrollment and Student Success, outside agency and other departments to identify, develop, and coordinate public relations initiatives that support the college in launching new programs, reinforcing the college brand, creating interest and establishing senior administrators and faculty as thought leaders within their areas of expertise. Commissions or conducts market research.

    • Plans, develops, and coordinates integrated marketing initiatives as needed and within budget involving the use of digital and social media, traditional marketing channels, search engine optimization, website updates, email/communication automation to increase brand awareness, generate leads, and increase engagement and communication with prospective and current students.

    • Assists in the management, development which included copy-writing, design, and other assistance, and the implementation of communication tools for external audiences which may include presentations, news and events updates/flashes, newsletters, blogs, and other forms of communication. Creates marketing presentations for stakeholders.

    • Obtains necessary consent and provides final approval on all marketing collateral, products, and promotions. Works with outside vendors including copy-writers, graphic designers, printers, SEM vendors, and other vendors as needed for customized support as determined to promote the College brand, attract and retain students, communicate outreach, and streamline communications in-house.
