  • Purpose of Job
    • Provides administrative support and assistance to college president. Position requires advanced skills in time management, schedule coordination and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Job Requirements
    • Education
      • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.) required.
      • Associate's degree in business administration, liberal arts, or related degree preferred.

    • Experience
      • Five years progressively more responsible work experience in a business office environment working directly with executive management required.

    • License/Certifications
      • Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) desirable but not required.

    • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
      • Strong knowledge of report development, organization and maintenance.
      • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy, with very strong organizational, time, and project management skills.
      • Strong interpersonal skills in working with internal and external constituents and others.
      • Demonstrates initiative, good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
      • Able to communicate clearly and correctly in writing and verbally
      • Able to work independently and with little supervision.
      • Requires high level of confidentiality and discretion in working with proprietary and sensitive data.
      • Proficient in the use of personal computers and standard office equipment including facsimile and scanning machines, printers, copiers, telephone (PBX) systems, videoconferencing, and other office equipment.
      • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Essential Job Functions

    • Provide high level administrative support to Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) president to include but not limited to:
      • The preparation and editing of confidential correspondence, communications, presentations, and other documents.
      • Arranging and coordinating executive level and board meetings, appointments and travel in accordance with president's goals and priorities.
      • Recording, distributing and maintaining board meeting and other meeting minutes.
      • Answering and managing incoming calls, managing president's e-mail and calendar.
      • Receiving and interacting with executives and stakeholders, external clients, donors, vendors and the public.
      • Other administrative duties as identified or required.

    • Undertake confidential and proprietary projects that may include conducting secondary research using the internet and other methods, developing spreadsheets for analysis, managing and monitoring projects, and developing reports as requested by the president to support college initiatives, planning, and other organizational endeavors.

    • Oversee and manage college-wide information used for external communications and as identified by president's office to include but not limited to:
      • College academic calendar.
      • Board member updates.
      • Historical/chronological college milestones.
      • Administration website updates.
      • Other public information as assigned.

    • Works with chief compliance officer on contracts and other compliance and accreditation documents.

    • Provide administrative support to Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) vice presidents as needed to include but not limited to:
      • Travel arrangements.
      • Scheduling meetings.
      • Other administrative tasks as identified.

    • Participates in mandatory and continuing education as mandated by policies, procedures, and directed by the supervisor.

    • Perform all other administrative and supervisory duties as required or assigned by college president.
