    • Performs diagnostic Andrology tests and executes therapeutic Andrology and Embryology procedures.

    • Education
      • Bachelors of Science in Biology or related field required.
      • Masters degree in related field preferred.

    • Experience
      • 2 years general laboratory experience required.

    • License/Certifications
      • Technical Supervisor certification is preferred.

      • Must have Micromanipulation skills.

    • Essential Functions I

      • Performs diagnostic Andrology tests to provide reliable and accurate data reports as outlined in Laboratory Policy & Procedures.
        • Demonstrates consistent proficiency in procedures.
        • Consistently produces error free data/reports
        • Commands working knowledge of scientific principles relating to Andrology

      • Executes routine therapeutic Andrology and Embryology procedures that includes semen analysis, quantitative sperm morphology assessments and routine embryology assessments to treat subfertility patients as outlined in laboratory Policy & Procedures Manual.
        • Demonstrates consistent proficiency in procedures.
        • Participates in procedures.
        • Demonstrates working knowledge of scientific principles related to treating infertility.

      • Performs and analyzes quality control tasks to maintain laboratory and Hospital standards for accreditation as outlined in Quality Control and Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures.
        • Performs daily Quality Control (Q.C.) and compares data with tolerances.
        • Adjusts equipment set points as needed.
        • Demonstrates working knowledge between equipment function, Quality Control (Q.C.), and procedures.

      • Collects and tabulates data to provide in-house and national statistics for continuous quality (performance) improvement as outlined in the Quality Improvement Policies and Procedures.
        • Participates in data collection.
        • Participates in data evaluation.
        • Demonstrates problem solving based on data evaluations.

      • Performs exercises and collects data on exercises designed to measure proficiency in all areas of technical expertise as outlined in the Proficiency Testing (PT) Policies and Procedures.
        • Documents participation in Proficiency Testing (PT) as required by video/spreadsheets/worksheets.
        • Uses corrective action as outlined by Proficiency Testing (PT) officer when proficiency falls outside tolerance.
        • Maximizes time/available samples to improve proficiency.

      • Functions as the compliance officer for one or more of the following sections: Quality Control, Quality Improvement, Safety, Proficiency Testing, Preventative Maintenance, designed to coordinate and analyze needs of each section as outlined in appropriate section policy and procedures manual.
        • Maintains section logs/files in organized and updated form.
        • Liaisons with lab supervisor to assure section compliance with policies and procedures.
        • Demonstrates working knowledge regarding importance of section to overall lab function.

      • Participates in Continuing Education related to Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) to provide technical, professional and personal growth through journal reading, workshops, meetings, in-services, and lectures as suggested by laboratory leadership.
        • Acquires contemporary scientific knowledge through journal reading.
        • Presents to lab synopsis of recently attended scientific meeting.
        • Presents in-service to lab/section on subject relevant to current lab/section procedures.

      • Identifies, accepts, and performs additional tasks and responsibilities not presently detailed, in an effort to aid the section in meeting newly formed goals as outlined by laboratory supervisor/director.
        • Completes assignments quickly and completely.
        • Works within the realm of objectives defined in the project.
        • Coordinates projects with lab supervisor.

    • Essential Functions II

      • Participates in mandatory in-services and/or CE programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and as directed by management.

      • Follows and understands the mission, vision, core values, Employee Standards of Behavior and company policies/procedures.
