POSITION SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Optimization Analyst develops processes, tools, reports, and provides data analytics to support supply chain strategic initiatives, such as supply and demand forecasting, inventory planning, purchasing, logistics, and cost optimization. Serves as subject matter expert in supply chain to improve customer satisfaction, best practices and financial commitments. Leads root cause analysis including problem definition, investigation, and developing correction and prevention processes. Research business processes and serves as the liaison between supply chain functions, sales and information technology. Communicates findings and recommendations to management and other functions. Develops metrics and measures and analyzes results. Accountable for successful collaboration with various supply chain functions and functional experts to prioritize and deliver value-added solutions that meet or exceed our growth objectives. Will participate in and lead continuous improvement initiative projects and creates sustainable solutions on supply chain strategies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  2. Independently identifies / documents / analyzes / implements / communicates solutions to meet the needs of the business
  3. Analyzes supply chain metrics and other data to identify root causes and process improvements
  4. Develops new tools and processes to support supply chain goals and objectives, including creating metrics and monthly supplier scorecards. Creates supply chain metrics, identifies methods for evaluating supply chain metrics, and audits supply chain data
  5. Manage supply chain master data to ensure efficiencies including manufacturing and purchasing strategies, truckload optimization, accuracy of routings and bill of materials and plant capacities
  6. Develops decision support tools and financial models to analyze the cost/benefit tradeoffs of inventory
  7. Identifies underlying patterns and improvement opportunities and works with Leaders, stakeholders, and project teams to evaluate improvement opportunities
  8. Partners with management to improve supply chain performance and enhance collaboration
  9. Identifies problems through analysis, decomposes large and complex problems into simple and easy to understand solutions, and creates sustainable solutions on supply chain strategies
  10. Analyzes and gathers supply chain best practices and develops strategies in support of supply chain business case development
  11. Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies/anomalies in more complex research/data
  12. Conducts day-to-day business analyses in support of supply chain activities
  13. Advises others on how to design new processes and systems that meet business strategies and standards
  14. May provide general guidance/direction to or train junior level support or professional personnel
  15. Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings and completing assignments.
  16. Ability to work and interact well with others.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, business, engineering or other related field.

Experience:  Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Supply Chain Role.

Required Skills: 

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual, complex problems or issues.
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills and technical understanding of Supply Chain Planning.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • A systems aptitude with working knowledge of ERP and the systems that support planning and decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and organize multiple work streams into repeatable, documented processes.
  • Advanced problem solving skills and the ability to lead or support process optimization.
