POSITION SUMMARY

This Maintenance/Tool & Die Supervisor is responsible for effectively leading both Maintenance and Tool & Die technicians engaged in the safe and expedient installation, maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities to maintain and improve equipment reliability.  This role also establishes and maintains a positive employee relations environment by adherence to Lozier’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.  This position clearly communicates expectations and consistently holds self and employees accountable for performance.

  • Supervise routine, preventive, and project maintenance and tool & die work assignments to optimize the reliability of plant equipment and the facilities.
  • Work collaboratively with production and engineering to plan, organize, and justify cost for project implementation and preventive maintenance and demonstrate problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Work collaboratively with production supervisors and managers to solve maintenance related problems, reduce costs and improve operations.
  • Maintain and consistently administer local policies to meet day to day operating requirements. Ensure that all regulatory standards and company policies are understood, supported and followed on the production floor.
  • Collaborate with support functions, including Learning & Development Team, to coordinate job training and provide training resources within the department.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Minimum of an Associate’s degree or two-year certification in related technical field or equivalent experience required; bachelor’s degree in technical field preferred.

Experience: 

  • With an degree or certification in a related field, 3 years experience in an engineering, maintenance or tool & die role; with at least 1 year of demonstrated success in leading/managing a technical area, such as manufacturing engineering, Tool & Die or maintenance in a manufacturing setting.
  • Without a degree,  5 years in an engineering, maintenance or tool & die role; with at least 3 years of demonstrated success in leading/managing a technical area, such as manufacturing engineering, Tool & Die or maintenance Demonstrated success in leading/managing a technical area, such as manufacturing engineering, Tool & Die or maintenance in a manufacturing setting.

Required Skills:

  • Working knowledge of industrial maintenance and tool & die in a manufacturing setting including welders, brake presses, roll formers, punch presses, paint lines, lasers, CNC equipment and dies.
  • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office Applications.
  • General mechanical and electrical knowledge including troubleshooting and programmable controller knowledge.

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to navigate throughout a manufacturing facility or warehouse 75% of the day.
  • Must be flexible to cover for shifts other than the regularly assigned shift.
