POSITION SUMMARY

Provides leadership of production/warehouse operations to ensure results meet or exceeds the objectives and business goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Leads the safety initiative and makes safety the most important goal in the area.
  • Demonstrates understanding of plant performance objectives and annual performance improvement goals. Puts the necessary  strategic changes and development in place to prepare the area for future success
  • Implements and maintains structure for achieving respect and caring, safety, schedule compliance, quality, productivity and cost reduction.
  • Develops management team across all shifts of plant that is capable of supporting plant objectives.
  • Capable of making good business decisions in a fast paced environment.
  • Lead and facilitate the support functions, support projects and initiatives to improve and maintain area performance, and address any issues, obstacles or abnormalities that occur.
  • Gives timely and accurate feedback for both short and long term goals to all levels i.e. Plant Manager, Vice President of Operations, P&IC, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and Tool & Die.
  • Is an active player in the Operations and Improvement Plan by developing, implementing and maintaining continuous process improvements to improve performance in the areas of safety, quality, service, respect and caring and cost reduction.
  • Creates a high standard of housekeeping and professional behavior throughout the operation.
  • Motivates and develops employees including giving specific and timely performance feedback.
  • Knowledgeable in standard budgeting practices and participates in the budgeting process.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Minimum of an Associate’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required; Bachelors degree in business or technical field preferred.

Experience:  5 years warehouse or manufacturing experience, whichever is applicable in which at least 2 years are in a supervisory/lead role. Without a degree, 7 years warehouse or manufacturing experience in which at least 4 years are in a supervisory/lead role.

Required Skills:

  • Intermediate PC skills
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, production planning
  • Knowledge of financial measurements
  • Intermediate project management skills
  • Time management and team building skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations with strong interpersonal      skills.

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to move around through the manufacturing facility or warehouse.
  • Must be able to work off shifts and weekends as needed.
