POSITION SUMMARY

Daily administration of human resources activities including recruiting, production hiring, training and general administrative support. Performs professional level of work administering employee programs, preparing and conducting employee orientation, training meetings and supporting HR production recruiting and promotional activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Enter HRIS transactions.

  • Responsible for Production staffing including: initial screening of applications, completing phone screens, setting up interviews, recommending hires to supervisors and assisting in the coordination of pre-employment evaluations.

  • Facilitate new hire orientations and other presentations and/or training for the plant.
  • Assist in the completion of the I-9 process for new hires including E-verifications and appropriate follow-up.
  • Administer education assistance program.
  • Administer employee referral program.
  • Follow up/tracking of overdue performance evaluations.

  • Assist in maintaining plant employee files, including reviewing and purging plant files when an employee is terminated.

  • Maintain grievance files as needed.

  • Manages service recognitions programs, including retirement luncheons and other milestone recognitions as assigned.

  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments

  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field

Experience: One year experience at entry level HR generalist preferred, new graduate acceptable.

Required Skills:

  • Basic level of Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word & Access)

  • Basic knowledge of all applicable human resources regulations

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to conduct clear and concise presentations

  • Ability to develop plans for accomplishing assigned work and set priorities with a proper sense of urgency

  • Basic project management skills

  • Strong group facilitation skills

Preferred Skills

  • Human Resource Information System (HRIS) systems experience

  • HR related experience in a manufacturing environment

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to be flexible in work hours.

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license.

  • Periodic travel may be required by automobile or air, including overnight stays, to attend training or provide support at other company locations.
