POSITION SUMMARY

The Plant Accountant II position is responsible for accurate and timely monthly/yearly closings; preparation, review, and analysis of various Accounting and Operational reports; successful completion of Financial and Cost Analytical projects; and providing a wide range of Accounting/Financial and Analytical skills. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Perform and master Month-End/Year-End closing processes (i.e., prepare and key Journal Entries and prepare Financial and Operational reports)
  • Perform and master Cost Accume process (i.e., Product Cost changes)
  • Assist with the Budget and Operating Target processes
  • Assist with annual Physical Inventory
  • Leads the Weekly Reporting process (i.e. review/prepare the weekly labor and scrap reports, review weekly material utilizaiton reports, review/prepare weekly stafety scorecards)
  • Assist with reviewing weekly overhead spending.
  • Assist with reviewing inventory transactions and adjustments.
  • Initiate and participate in process improvements within Accounting and other areas (i.e., Operations, Purchasing, Receiving)
  • Develop, maintain, and utilize standard operating procedures/work instructions
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments
  • Ability to work and interact well with others

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:    Bachelors’ degree in Accounting/Finance

Experience:  3-5 years of General or Plant Accounting experience

  • Intermediate problem solving skills
  • Organization skills
  • Time management skills
  • Intermediate project management skills
  • Intermediate Accounting concepts
  • Reconciliation skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Information Systems
