Qualifications: Minimum of three years or Journeyman level experience; heavy equipment maintenance experience in the construction or mining industry; prefer completion of a two-year mechanical vocational-technical degree that includes diesel and heavy equipment courses and at least 3 years' experience. Candidate must be able to operate oxygen/acetylene cutting torch and perform basic arc welding repairs.
Duties: The position is responsible for performing maintenance repairs, troubleshooting and lube services on large mining equipment such as Komatsu D375 and D475 crawler tractors, Komatsu WD600 rubber tire dozers, CAT 777 and Komatsu HD785 mechanical drive haul trucks, Cat 992 front-end loaders and Cat 16M motor graders, this will include troubleshooting, tune-ups and servicing as well as repairs on Caterpillar, Komatsu and Cummins engines. Must be able to read, understand and use low voltage (24V) electrical, air and hydraulic schematics in performing repairs on construction and/or mining equipment, able to remove and replace the following types of components: radiators, hydraulic pumps, cylinders and valves, water pumps, air valves and engine sub components.
Position requires rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime. Personal tools are also required.
