This position is responsible for teaching Certified Nurse Aide classes (lecture, lab, and clinical hours) as assigned by the Academic Dean. Must evaluate and report student performances and progress in courses in accordance with college and division policies and procedures. Must meet Minimum Faculty Standards for hire and adhere to college policies and procedures. Some travel, by vehicle, may be required.
Required Qualification
- Instructor is a Registered Nurse with a minimum of one hospital or clinical experience.
- Train the Trainer certificate or willingness to be certified upon hire.
- Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S. driver's license and good driving record.
Preferred Qualification
- Minimum of one year work in a long-term care facility.
Physical Demands
Ability to occasionally lift 10 pounds, ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and use a phone. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction, strong organizational skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem solving and high level of interpersonal skills is required. Some travel, by vehicle, may be required to other locations. Work is routinely performed in a classroom environment. Frequent contact with internal and external customers is required. Instructors are responsible for obtaining and maintaining reliable compatible computer hardware and software.
