Description

The Assistant Director is responsible for supervising and building relationships with the team of College Success Advisors, Faculty, and Staff across the division and college. Will provide active training and support in accordance with our Guided Pathways model. In addition, will communicate the department's vision, mission, and goals to the team.

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree

All Student Services staff members must have the ability to excel in a team and individual settings, multi-task, problem solve, manage their time, and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and faculty while thriving in a fast pace environment.
  • A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in student services at a post-secondary institution is required, preferably in academic advising, student development, or a similar department.
  • Experience that demonstrates: sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of community college students.
  • The ability to provide leadership, supervision, direction, support, and guidance to the College Success Advising staff members.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Work is routinely performed in an office environment, specifically in the Clark Hall Welcome Center, and in various areas around the college.

Requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending, stooping or stretching. May require light lifting. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires ability to distinguish letters or symbols. Requires the use of office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, telephone, faxes, and copiers.
