This position is responsible for teaching industrial technology courses focused on electrical, as assigned by the Academic Dean. Courses include motors and controls, circuits, basic and intermediate electricity and other courses as needed. This position would be a two-semester contract with summers off. Assignment location will be Council Bluffs, Iowa, but could include center locations in the future. The instructor will promote, develop, and deliver quality education programs with the intent to retain students to graduation and access student learning outcomes each term. Must evaluate and report student performances and progress in courses in accordance with college and division policies and procedures. Other duties include, but are not limited to, teaching classroom and laboratory sessions, curriculum development/restructuring, lab oversight and safety activities, student success, student recruitment, and responsibility for materials and supplies.

Required Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology, Engineering, Electrical or similar field OR 6000 hours of work experience. Candidates should have a Master License in Electrical
Candidate for this position should have expertise in electrical/industrial technology focused on electrical. . Expertise should include residential, commercial, and industrial electricity, blueprint reading, and the basic principles of circuits and electricity. Must maintain lab safety and cleanliness through instructional activities. Usage of an online learning management system is required.
Hiring process includes ability to pass a background check, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record.

Preferred Qualification

Teaching experience is preferred. 8+ years in the industry is preferred.

Physical Demands

Requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending, stooping or stretching. Requires heavy lifting depending on assignment and lab. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires the safe use of construction equipment. use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment. Work is performed in a classroom environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and use a phone. Some travel, by vehicle, may be required. Reading, writing, calculating, and working with minimal supervision, a high degree of problem-solving, organizational skills, and high degree of inter-personal skills preferred.
