The Director of Continuing Education (CE) is responsible for the customer focused administration of the department including the planning, implementation, operation and evaluation of all programs and staff. The Director will develop and promote marketing initiatives for the growth of the department and specific programs within the department, coordinate hiring, evaluation, and development of program instructors and staff, and build community relationships to promote programs and assess future training needs of the community.
Bachelor's degree required.
Self-starter with the ability to effectively lead a department while operating with minimal supervision.
Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies.
Skilled in using business software systems in work assignments (i.e. Word, Excel, various LMS, and database systems).
Masters degree in relevant discipline preferred.
Supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
Experience in a continuing education capacity preferred.
Experience in a community college setting preferred.
Experience with bottom line budget responsibilities preferred
Include occasional lifting of 10 pounds, the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment, regularly required to talk, hear and use a phone, and some travel, by vehicle, may be required. Reading, writing, calculating, and working with minimal supervision, a high degree of problem-solving, organizational skills, and high degree of inter-personal skills. Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S Driver's License and a good driving record.
