Description

The Director of Instructional Design and Innovation collaborates with faculty and other academic staff to improve the institution's instructional presence and impact through its learning management system (LMS) delivering multiple modalities of instruction (online, hybrid, live virtual, and face-to-face) to incorporate adaptive and active learning to enhance student engagement in support of student success and retention. This position applies instructional design principles while maintaining and supporting online courses, students, and materials. The Director coordinates and provides onboarding and ongoing training and support to faculty for pedagogy, course and program design, assessment, and learning management system usage. The Director uses appropriate technology systems to design reports to collect and extract data to measure student learning outcomes at the course, program, and institutional levels.

Required Qualification

Master's degree with areas of preference in instructional design, assessment or curriculum and instruction and 5 years of applicable work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Demonstrated knowledge working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas

Previous curriculum/assessment experience

Experience with multiple modes of instructional delivery

Preferred Qualification

Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

Ability to plan, organize and manage time; work collaboratively and independently, while responding in a timely manner to requests which requires flexibility and prioritization skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision, individually and as a team member

Physical Demands

Normal office environment; light work duty (ability to lift 10 lbs.)

The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear

Ability to drive and or travel via car
