Description

Effective Date: Fall 2021

This position will be responsible for teaching all levels of Art courses. Courses may include, but are not limited to, Art Appreciation, Design, 2-D Design, 3-D Design, Drawing, and Painting. Individual must be willing to teach a variety of methodologies: face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and video conferencing. Assignments may also include teaching at multiple sites during the course of a semester. This instructor will also be responsible for course instruction and classroom management. Duties include, but are not limited to, teaching classroom and laboratory sessions, curriculum development/restructuring, committee assignments, student academic advising, student recruitment, assessment of student learning, responsibility for materials and supplies, and budget management. All candidates interviewed will be required to provide a teaching demonstration.

Required Qualification

Master's degree in Art or master's degree and 18 graduate credit hours in Art or related field.

Preferred Qualification

Master's degree in Art is preferred. Community college teaching experience is preferred.

Physical Demands

Ability to occasionally lift 10 pounds, ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment, and ability to work with diverse populations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and use a phone. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving, organizational skills with the teaching and learning process, and high level of inter-personal skills is preferred. Hiring process includes ability to pass a background check, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record.

Typical Working Conditions:
Work is routinely performed in a classroom environment. Frequent contact with internal and external customers is required. Some travel may be required.
