Iowa Western is currently seeking Part-Time Adjunct Computer Information Technology Instructors (CIT) in the following areas of CIT: Operating Systems, Web Design, Linux Administration, CSS, HTML, Javascript, jQuiery, PHP, Database Design, MIS, SQL, CISCO, and Cyber-Security to join our exciting, student-focused team at our beautiful SW Iowa Campus, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The Adjunct Computer Information Technology Instructor is responsible for teaching classes as assigned by the Dean. Must be willing to teach a variety of methodologies: face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and video conferencing. Assignments may also include teaching at multiple sites during the course of a semester.

Required Qualification

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS or other related field and prior Information Technology industry experience OR a Master's degree in any field with 18 graduate hours in Computer Science, MIS, Cyber-Security, or other related field.

Preferred Qualification

Community college teaching experience is preferred and an understanding of community college philosophy and the community college student is desirable

Physical Demands

Duties include, but are not limited to, teaching classroom and laboratory sessions, curriculum development/restructuring, assessment of student learning, and assess student learning outcomes in courses each term, and refer students to college resources.
Ability to occasionally lift 10 pounds, ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, use a phone and some travel, by vehicle, may be required. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving and high level of inter-personal skills is preferred. Hiring process includes ability to pass a background check, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record.
