The Associate Dean of Health and STEM will report to the Dean for Health & STEM. Duties include, but are not limited to oversight and assisting Health Programs' Accreditation Liaisons in preparing for accreditation, effectively engage all stakeholders, assist the Dean in the development and implementation of a comprehensive and integrative strategic plan for Health and STEM in alignment with the College strategic plan, and address student, faculty and staff concerns pertaining to instructional issues.
Master's degree in a Health/STEM related field from a regionally accredited institution.
Three five years of teaching experience in a post-secondary institution in a Health or STEM program. Demonstrated leadership experience in a Health Sciences, in a post-secondary or other relevant organization and experience teaching or working in a community college is required.
Knowledge of academic program accreditation requirements, knowledge of clinical requirements for placement of Health Sciences students, and a good working knowledge of the pedagogy of Health Sciences programs and the practice/clinical education context in which the programs operate.
Licenses/Certifications: Current licensure or certification in a profession within the disciplines taught by Health Sciences.
An ability to undertake leadership and management responsibilities demonstrating exemplary leadership style including resiliency and adaptability. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, ability work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving and high-degree of inter-personal skills preferred.
Include occasional lifting of 10 pounds, the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment, ability to work with diverse populations, and work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and use a phone, and some travel by vehicle may be required. Reading, writing, calculating, and working with minimal supervision, a high degree of problem-solving, organizational skills, and high degree of inter-personal skills preferred. Hiring process includes ability to pass a background check, a valid driver's license, and a good driving record.
