We have an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our growing Transportation Business group based in our New York office. 

Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing all aspects of medium and large multi-discipline transportation projects. A candidate with experience in delivering complex NYCDOT projects and someone who has the experience of daily interactions with NYCDOT is desirable. The candidate will independently coordinate the work of professional staff and the balance the team throughout the entire projects development.

Candidate must have demonstrated ability to manage the Public relationships and outreach, technical, managerial and administrative aspect of a project. Must have proven experience coordinating with and obtaining design approvals from the Public Design Commission, SHPO, Landmarks, NYCDEP, OCMC, Railroads.

Candidate with proven experience co-ordinating with NYCDOT's Community Outreach unit toward community focused project presentations and ability to adjust aspects of design to accommodate concerns is desirable.
Candidate must have proven experience with NYCDOT's administration process including approvals by the ACCO, EAB and invoice processing and experience with NYCDOT contract language and its considerations as it applies to management of a total design project are desirable.
The candidate must also have a working knowledge with Design Approval Document (DAD) and Procedures for Locally Administered Federal Aid Projects Manual (PLAFAP) project requirements.

The successful candidate shall establish client relations, and be involved with the marketing, contractual, design and production meetings. Participates in reviews with various governing agencies for compliance. Conducts work sessions for design development and contract document in conjunction with other staff. Is responsible to coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule. Is responsible to track the financial aspects of the projects, and coordinates and adjusts the work effort with the team to ensure that the work is completed within the parameters of the agreed to schedule. Works with the Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and the Department Manager for project reviews and with company management on an as needed basis.   • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or related degree.
  • New York State PE.
  • 10+ years of experience working with New York City Department of Transportation as project engineer and/or project manager.
  • Prior successful relevant experience as Project Manager on bridge total design and construction support projects
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite. Solid written and verbal communication skills.
