Primary Responsibilities

Field Contract Administrator on a wastewater capital project with a direct cost of construction in excess of $150M. The Field Contracts Administrator (FCA):
  • Provides support to the Resident Engineer in the administration of the terms and conditions of the construction contract.
  • Manages the contract change process including monitoring and tracking changes and claims resolution, and coordinates with the RE and Project Engineer on the identification of Change Requests to be incorporated into Change Orders.
  • Manages the preparation of change orders, including preparing the Record of Negotiations and maintaining the contract files.
  • Reviews Application for Payments and project correspondence to the Contractor for conformance with contractual requirements.
  • Reviews and responds to RFIs that request clarification of contractual requirements.
  • Assists the RE in contractual closeout to ensure all administrative and contractual requirements are met.
  • This position reports to the RE.

Required Qualifications

  • A baccalaureate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
  • At least ten (10) years of recent experience in construction contract management on large heavy civil/industrial type construction projects;
  • At least five (5) years of recent experience in an alternative project delivery method is preferred;
  • Served in a lead role for contract management/administration on a project with a value over $75 million, with features similar to those of a water or wastewater treatment facility;
  • Experience on heavy civil/industrial public works water or wastewater treatment facilities is preferred;
  • At least three (3) years of recent experience in using construction management software;
  • Full knowledge of construction contract requirements, contract change conditions and claims analysis and negotiations, change order cost estimates, and time impact analyses.

  • Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities

  • Web-based Construction Management Information System (CMIS) software
