Primary Responsibilities

The North Texas Transportation Construction Services Lead will oversee all heavy-highway construction services delivered by the Transportation Business Group in the North Texas area. This position may be located out of any of our NorthTexas locations.
The primary duties of the Construction Services Lead include responsibility for Construction Management, Project Controls and inspection staff supervision and quality control.
  • Will manage and facilitate pursuits for the Central Texas area in heavy-highway construction services as well as assisting with municipal transportation construction personnel.
  • Additionally work with regional and national transportation personnel with respect to opportunities for alternative delivery mechanisms for transportation projects including design-build program management procurement services quality programs and other related opportunities.
  • Capable of performing additional construction services activities including review of contract document terms and conditions; performance of constructability and value engineering reviews; construction estimating; schedule preparation and reviews; coordinating expediting and reviewing construction submittals RFIs; monitoring and resolving contract changes; controlling the project budget and schedule; coordinating and managing project quality assurance and control and inspection services (including inspection reports); monitoring staff compliance with the Health and Safety Program through communication and inspections; and project setup and temporary facilities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Science Construction Management or equivalent.
  • 15+ years of experience in various aspects of construction planning and management including but not limited to estimating bidding preparing and administering purchase orders and subcontracts scheduling cost control etc.
  • Must be licensed PE.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain Texas PE within 6 months.
  • Must have recent experience delivering Construction services in Texas to Transportation clients (Roads Bridges Highways Rail/Transit Aviation).
  • Preferably in the North Texas marketplace.
  • Experience with estimating software (Timberline preferred) scheduling software (Primavera P6) and project management software.
  • Significant previous experience in the transportation construction field is required.
  • Must have strong people skills and the ability to interact with the design team
