Primary Responsibilities

 

HDR currently has an opening for a Water Wastewater EIT to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  As the Water Wastewater EIT, you will perform assignments under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager. The primary duties of the Water/Wastewater EIT include creating detailed designs of water and wastewater treatment systems, distribution systems and collection systems under instruction from the Project Engineer. More specific responsibilities include preparing plans for water and wastewater systems, calculations, writing specifications, analysis and study-level reports for water and wastewater treatment distribution and collection systems, determining appropriate design methods, equipment sizing and selection and working directly with the owner. Conducts quality control reviews of completed designs. Should be familiar with water and wastewater treatment processes and technologies.  Duties may also include hydraulics and hydrology modeling, storm water collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations. Typical projects range from flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

  •  BS/MS in Civil, Environmental, or other applicable engineering discipline required.

  • Interest or experience designing water/wastewater or water resources infrastructure.
  • AutoCAD and/or Microstation experience.

  • Microsoft Office Suite required; CAD Software packages and other design packages.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to quality, teaming, innovative problem solving, communication, relationship management and our employee ownership model.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT

  • 2 to 4 years experience preferred.

  • HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GEO-RAS, storm drain system analysis experience preferred.
