Primary Responsibilities

HDR is currently in need of an experienced Water Treatment Project Engineer to join our Denver team. The ideal individual will have 5+ years of progressive experience with the evaluation, planning, design and construction of water treatment processes and related infrastructure, with an emphasis on drinking water treatment and disinfection projects.


Key responsibilities are expected to include:


  • working independently to develop treatment process and equipment alternatives,

  • coordinating with project managers, technical specialists and other engineering disciplines to evaluate alternatives,

  • preparing technical memoranda and design reports,

  • sizing process equipment and laying out facilities,

  • completing process and hydraulic calculations,

  • estimating facility capital and  life cycle costs,

  • coordinating construction documents with multi-discipline project teams, and

  • completing assignments within budget and schedule

  • coordinating construction administration tasks including review of shop drawing submittals, responding to requests for information, and preparing field orders.


    The position provides an opportunity to function as a technical specialist and/or task manager on projects, mentor junior engineers and enhance technical and design team management skills.




  • Qualifications


    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering is required.

  • Masters degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is preferred.

  • PE is preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in the evaluation, design and construction of  water treatment projects is preferred.

  • Industrial water/ wastewater treatment experience a plus.

  • Active in Water/ Wastewater industry associations is a strong plus.

  • Experience with AutoCAD, MS Office, and MS Project required.
