Primary Responsibilities

The primary duties of the Civil Engineer include working with Project Managers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of civil and water resource projects for federal, state and local governments. More specific duties include: water resource analysis and design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, storm water collection systems modeling, field/construction inspections, municipal civil design, data collection, reports, and presentations to clients. Typical projects range from flood control impoundments, drainage ditches, stream grade control structures, and public works projects involving sewer, water, and roads. Engineer will produce design calculations, technical reports, cost estimates, plans and specifications.

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

  •  Bachelors degree

  •  4+ years of civil engineering experience

  •  PE

  •  Knowledge of HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, GEO-RAS, storm drain system analysis

  •  Excellent oral and written communication skills
