Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Civil Environmental Engineer / EIT, well count on you to:
Work with applications in oil and gas infrastructure, electric power plants, industrial facilities and institutions associated with the design and analysis of equipment foundations, site paving/grading, site utilities, water treatment systems, wastewater treatment systems, air quality control systems and steam-water cycle piping systems.

Engineering duties typically include performing linear pipeline design and associated calculations, developing equipment layouts, verifying code and standard compliance, quality checks, reviewing manufacturers drawings, preparing procurement specifications and construction documents, bid evaluations, conceptual design studies, report writing, selecting materials and equipment, observing construction, participating in project meetings, and other similar tasks as assigned.

Candidates must possess knowledge to successfully perform site development activities including identifying and completing permitting requirements and interfacing with state and local agencies and utility companies to determine easements, access limitations, and utility requirements and availability. 

The position will include travel for site surveys and meetings with clients, contractors and vendors. Travel is typically less than 5% for entry-level positions but could vary based on applicant's preferences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field is required.
  • One year of related experience is strongly preferred. Preference will be given to experience directly related to the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Experience with the preparation and submission of ESCGP-2s; GPs; JPAs; Nationwide 12 applications; and PAG-10s, HOPs.
  • Experience in interfacing with state and local agencies as well as community boards for project planning is beneficial.
  • Candidates must be able to perform other project tasks involving site investigation, evaluation of permitting requirements, evaluation of environmental conditions, and determination.
  • State certification in permitting for oil and gas regulations is desirable.
    Computer skills must include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Earth.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic programs such as TR-55 and HEC-RAS and working knowledge of other design programs (CAD and GIS) are strongly preferred.
  • Professional Registration (e.g., P.E or P.G) is not required, although preference is given to applicants with current registration.

    Candidates must be self-motivated, creative and have strong organizational, inter-personal communication, writing and presentation skills. Candidates must be able to function with little direction to meet project goals and able to take conceptual direction for project tasks and developed detail plans to complete task.
