HDR is looking for a Senior Environmental Project Manager to join our team in Boise, Idaho.  The candidate must have a strong background in NEPA, permitting, and related environmental services pertaining to power, energy, mining, and/or agri-business (HDR's Resource Business Group).  Provide business development, senior consulting, and project management leadership, primarily in the Resources Group but could also include water, transportation, and federal development projects. Position encompasses a client focus, networking and establishing client relationships, developing leads, and strategic thinking in future directions for both our clients and programs.  It also includes identifying market changes and anticipating their impacts to the business, pre-proposal visitations and supporting proposal preparation with technical and marketing staff by providing client-centric input and feedback, and giving presentations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Senior Environmental Project Manager for NEPA, permitting, and related environmental services in the power, energy, mining and/or agri-business
  • Provide technical expertise at project level and assist with growing HDR's environmental program through development of client relationships and identification of opportunities for expansion of our environmental services
  • Establish sequencing of environmental tasks/projects, from financial management through successful completion of the project, utilizing our technology, standards and project delivery practices
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
  • Establish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings




Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years' experience working with NEPA and/or permitting including developing plans, writing proposals, developing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for complex environmental projects with multi-disciplinary teams and multi-agency efforts; marketing clients, preferably within the mining, power, and industrial sectors.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, strong people skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills.       

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of NEPA and the environmental process
  • Experience managing EA/EIS projects
