HDR Engineering is looking for a front end Application Developer with GIS experience, driven by innovation and a desire to make a difference, to join our growing and nationally ranked team of professionals in southern California.
 
Development is an ever changing landscape of frameworks and ideas and can be a jungle to navigate, but the savvy developer can transcend fads to find appropriate tools to solve the task at hand. We are seeking clever, dedicated developers who enjoy what they do, like working with teams, and searching for new ideas.
 
General Skills:
  • Communication. Ability to share your ideas and work with other developers in a collaborative environment.
  • Problem solving. Knowing how to make a task easier, more maintainable and stable.
  • Curiosity. Knowing what's on the horizon in web development and when to use it.
  • Adaptability. Able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Ability to manage a complex range of tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of the Agile development lifecycle.
     
    Technical Skills:
  • Requires proficiency with Adobe Cold Fusion
  • Experience with JavaScript (including ES6), HTML, and CSS(SASS/LESS).
  • Responsive web design and UI frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.)
  • Experience with processes and tools (Git, NPM, Yarn, Gulp, etc.)
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks (jQuery, React, Angular 2, etc.)
  • Experience with server-side technologies (NodeJS, .NET, etc.)
  • Experience with RESTful web services.
  • Understanding of unit testing and continuous integration and deployment.
  • Understanding of cross-platform compatibility and debugging.
  • Understanding of cloud computing, preferably Azure.
     
    GIS Skills (Preferable):
  • Esri (ArcGIS Server/Enterprise (10.4+), Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Web AppBuilder.
  • Open source web mapping tools (Leaflet, Mapbox, OpenLayers, etc.)

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

  •  Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Geography, Planning, Engineering or Natural Sciences

  •  0 - 10 years experience in GIS/IT applications development

  •  Expertise in software development using Visual Basic, C++, C#, JavaScript, HTML, Flex, Silverlight or other appropriate programming environment

  •  Requires attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills and working in a team environment

  •  Continuous technical currency

  •  An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

    Preferred Qualifications

  •  Esri Certification

  •  Experience in developing applications using ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server with MS SQL Server or Oracle, ArcGIS Mobile, ArcPad or Microsoft SharePoint
