Our Senior Crew leaders assists in the day-to-day activities a well as supervision of field operations of the Maintenance Technicians in the Panama City, FL area.  Aside from various tasks like assisting with traffic control and security at crash scenes, clearing travel lanes, providing highway maintenance the Technician Crew Leader will also perform some managerial duties.

 

Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist motorist with first aid at crash scenes
  • Review Maintenance Technician crew reports, activity reports, vehicle inspections, data entry, incident reports, and other important documentation for accuracy
  • Assist Maintenance technicians in the dissemination of training information, providing corrective measures and best practices to the field for implementation
  • Provide and assist with detecting performance deficiencies of operators and assisting in conducting remedial training to improve operator skills.
  • Monitor safety and make recommendations regarding needed changes and improvements of field operations while working within the guidelines and directives set forth by the FHWA Field Operation Guide and company contract
  • Assist with the interview, hiring, and training process and documentation of new-hires, and evaluations of existing employees
 

Qualifications

 

Qualifications

  •  5+ years experience in road maintenance or equivalent supervisory experience preferred

  •  Ability to read, analyze and interpret common financial reports, technical designs, and legal documents 

  •  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community

  •  Ability to effectively present information to top management, customers and employees.

  •  Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees 

  •  An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

     

    Must be able to communicate fluently in English.  To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to use a computer to prepare reports and communicate with dispatch.  Must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.  CDL preferred but not required.

     

    The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and sit.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Must be able to respond to emergencies when they arise.  This position is primarily outside and may be exposed to harsh weather conditions.
