This role is responsible for completing routine maintenance activities on roadways, bridges and facilities within the project area.  These activities will include but are not limited to debris patrol and removal; litter removal; tree trimming and selective vegetation control; sign, fence, pavement and guardrail repair; drainage and shoulder maintenance; facility repairs; graffiti removal; bridge and sign component repair; maintenance of traffic in event of accident on roadway.

 

This role will include some field supervision that will involve working with assigned crews within the project area. 

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • MOT certification required (option to acquire within 2 months of employment)
  • 1-3 years experience in facilities, roadway, bridge or grounds maintenance required
  • Experience working with hand tools, equipment and vehicles properly and safely
  • Computer experience/knowledge necessary
  • CDL is preferred but not required
  • Can speak, read and write English fluently
  • Must pass Dept. of Corrections inmate supervision class
  • Mon-Fri, 40 hours per week; overtime as required
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and traverse uneven terrain
  • Ability to work while exposed to outside weather conditions
