Primary Responsibilities

HDR currently has an opening for a Transportation Construction Inspector to join our team in Colorado on a temporary basis (project hire). The primary duties include conducting and documenting observations of construction on transportation projects. Strong written skills and good communication skills are a must.  Responsibilities may include coordination of field materials sampling and testing including, soils density and sampling, concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, , asphalt density testing, and other testing as may be applicable to the project.  CDOT core curriculum, ECS, and ATSSA or ability to obtain is required.  WAQTC and certifications and ability to perform occasional concrete, soils, or asphalt testing is desirable but not required.  Monitors, records, and inspects progress on construction projects, etc. May have involvement in client development and project pursuits.





Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent. Tech school or college degree beneficial.

  • 5+ years of experience inspecting transportation construction projects preferred.

  • Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) experience, Federal Transit Administration (FTA) experience, and or Central Federal Lands experience is desirable.

  • Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • This position typically requires successfully passing drug-screening procedures prior to being hired; thereafter subject to random and cause drug and alcohol testing. HDR is a drug and alcohol free environment.

  • Assignments may be located throughout Colorado must be willing to travel.
