HDR is a global, employee-owned consulting firm with over 600 employees in the NY/NJ area, including offices in Albany and Syracuse. We have a unique opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with in depth experience and relationships with federal and state agencies in this region to expand HDR's capabilities and market share in environmental investigation and remediation by maximizing over $100 million in contact capacity. In this role, the Senior Project Manager will be a key leader in growing our practice in the area.

Primary ResponsibilitiesIn the role of Senior Project Manager, well count on you to:

  • Provide technical expertise at project level and assist with growing HDR's environmental remediation program through development of client relationships and identification of opportunities for expansion of our environmental services.
  • Help HDR to maximize business opportunities through mining of existing contracts with various agencies, including NYSDEC
  • Take responsibility for project management and staff management, as well as marketing, business development and client management
  • Work as a member of our environmental remediation section focused on NYSDEC Superfund work
  • Establish sequencing of environmental tasks/projects, from financial management through successful completion of the project, utilizing our technology, standards and project delivery practices
  • Conduct schematic design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, Engineers and other disciplines, as necessary.
  • Coordinate workload with project team throughout entire project development to complete documents on schedule
  • Work with the Controller and Managing Principal for project reviews
  • Execute training for personnel as established by strategic plans

    Qualifications

     

    Qualifications

    Bachelors degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science or closely related field

  • At least 15 years experience in complex environmental remediation projects, with a particular focus on the NY state experience
  • Solid relationships with NYSDEC and a reputation for bringing in projects to exceed client expectations.
  • Self-starter with excellent writing and communication skills
  • Strong conceptual, organizational, problem-solving and research skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
