The main focus of this Traffic Engineer position includes providing design and design oversight for the production of lighting, signing, pavement marking, traffic signals, traffic management system design plans, and intersection design. The candidate will also have led or performed traffic analysis and developed and delivered the associated reports for evaluating roadway capacity, operational analysis, and signal warrant analyses. This candidate will assist in providing traffic control and sequencing plans for the construction phase of a project or reviewing such plans. May plan, organize, supervise and check the work of staff professionals and technicians. Candidate may function as a technical specialist, task lead or project manager on projects.
B.S. in Civil Engineering
Washington P.E. or ability to obtain within 6 months.
6+ minimum years (preferred) experience traffic and transportation for urban roadways and highways, major and minor interchanges and intersections which must include previous project experience working with state and local agencies.
Proficiency with CAD software AutoCAD and/or Microstation
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Proficiency with AGi32 lighting analysis software
Experience with traffic operational analysis software including Synchro and Highway Capacity Software (HCS)
Strong oral and written communication skills and experience delivering project presentations
Experience working as part of a team to deliver designs, analysis and reports.
