Primary Responsibilities

HDR currently has an opening for a Geotechnical EIT to join our Transportation Business Group team in Lexington.  This individual will typically work under the direction of a licensed PE and be responsible for the geotechnical analysis and design of infrastructure projects including but not limited to roadways, railways, retaining walls, bridges, buildings, dams, levees, soil and rock slopes, asphalt and concrete pavements, etc. This individual will also review boring logs, laboratory data and design plans for a variety of geotechnical tasks such as slope stability, settlement analysis, construction recommendations, etc.; work on shallow and deep foundation design, such as driven piles and drilled shafts, and also provide project specific analysis of liquefaction potential with seismic considerations, slide remediation, ground improvement, and others; prepare drawings, specifications, and foundation reports for geotechnical projects; and also be expected to coordinate with project managers to implement measures to successfully meet all project goals and objectives.

  

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

  • BSCE required; MSCE is preferred.
  • EIT certification or ability to obtain.
  • 0-4+ years of engineering project experience entry-level candidates will be considered.
  • Knowledge of soil mechanics.
  • Experience with MS Office and software applications.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical engineering software (geostudios, ensoft, GRLWEAP, gINT) is beneficial.
  • Must be willing to do extensive travel (75%) with possible extended assignments throughout the United States.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and thrive working in a team environment.
