The Role

As the Actuarial Enterprise Risk Specialist, working with select areas of risk and lines of businesses, you will help support the continued development and implementation of the Lincoln Financial Groups Enterprise Risk Management program. The Enterprise Risk Management Group is part of a team reporting into the Chief Risk Officer.


The focus of this group is to deliver insightful, added-value, actionable risk analytics and governance to drive business results. The Specialist will assist with the identification, assessment and prioritization of risks and the development of processes to measure and report such issues throughout the organization.  The Specialist will assist with all aspects of Lincoln’s ERM framework.




  • Establishes effective working relationships throughout the organization, both at the corporate level and within the businesses.
  • Assists with:
    • Enterprise scenarios generation
    • Economic Capital (EC) modeling and aggregation
    • Risk Appetite reporting
    • Capital market analytics
    • Various governance structures
  • Helps identify, measure and communicate total enterprise risk issues
  • In conjunction with other risk management areas in the lines of businesses, helps develop, implement, monitor, and manage risk mitigation programs for the enterprise
  • Researches and prepares briefings on status of key projects and initiatives to leaders
  • Provides research and data analysis support
  • Implements process improvements, consistency, governance, controls, and oversight




  • Bachelors degree is required, preferably in math, business or other quantitative field
  • Other desirable training achieved or in process of attaining:
    • FSA/ASA and/or Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst designation
    • FRM/PRM/CQF designations
    • CFA designation




  • 1-3+ Years experience in actuarial science that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Strong written/verbal communications and presentation skills
  • High energy, self-motivated, with a high level of self-awareness
  • Critical thinker with an ability to analyze highly technical information
  • Computer skills:
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook)
    • ALFA or similar projection software systems a plus
    • Python, R, or other computer programming skills a plus
  • Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
