GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

This position will be responsible for supporting the development of the Group Protection financial plan. S/he will be responsible for creating/maintaining projection models and developing assumptions consistent with the strategic direction of the business.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  
  • Maintain primary ownership of revenue projection models and process
  • Provide secondary support to risk, expense, and investment models and process
  • Understand and explain key assumptions used in pricing and sales planning and incorporate these assumptions into financial planning process.
  • Develop and deliver tools and analysis that advances our ability to understand profitability at a granular level.
  • Proactively and reactively engage with operational and business partners, delivering quality analysis that ultimately identifies opportunities and actions to improve shareholder value.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to improve the business from a strategy or reporting perspective.
  • Communicates results of actuarial research to business unit management.
  • Provides consultation on actuarial models and risk issues.
  • Finds and implements ways to enhance more complex models and processes to generate greater accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identifies more complex risk issues and uses effective model control and documentation processes.

 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4 Year/Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors) (Minimum Required)
  • 3 - 5+ Years experience in actuarial science that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position (Required)

 
CERTIFICATIONS

  • Upon Hire Certifications/Licensures: (5-8 Actuarial Exams passed; typically has ASA designation, progressing toward FSA designation.)
     

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel Type: National Domestic
  • Travel Amount: up to 10%
