The Sr. Consultant, Employee Relations is responsible for mitigating risk by conducting and participating in objective and thorough internal investigations of complaints of perceived unfair treatment, harassment and/or discrimination. This position also manages the reasonable accommodation and corrective action processes for assigned client groups, using judgment to determine the proper course of action regarding any reported performance or conduct issues.
- Partners and leads internal investigations regarding reports of perceived unfair treatment, harassment and/or discrimination. A rigorous process is used that includes, but is not limited to, complainant and witness interviews, review of company policies and practices, and generating interview and investigation summaries.
- Collaborates with Business Unit HR Business Partners and Employment Law on employee relations investigations, and with other COEs as needed.
- Maintains recordkeeping of all employee relations matters in the ER case management system. Monitors and analyzes employee relations data for client groups to address identified themes.
- Under the direction of counsel, researches, investigates, and responds to administrative charges received from external governmental agencies.
- Manages the reasonable accommodation and corrective action processes; mitigates litigation risk by ensuring consistent application of the companys employment policies and practices.
- Coaches managers on how to effectively identify, navigate, and resolve employee relations and performance management issues.
- Ensures self and managers are accountable for documentation and follow-through on employee relations issues.
- Researches practices, interprets policies and recommends procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADAAA, etc.).
- Ensures the effective implementation, integration, and execution of Employee Relations, EEO, and Situational Assessment strategic and tactical plan initiatives.
- Enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Engages in frequent contact with client group population to identify potential issues and recommended follow-up to prevent employee relations problems from occurring.
- Proactively identifies opportunities to formally and informally educate managers on employee relations trends, policy, and law.
- 4 Year/Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors) (Minimum Required)
- 5 – 7+ Years of employee relations experience or related Human Resources Field. (Required)

- Creates training materials
- Writes business correspondence (i.e., letters, policies, corrective action, etc.)
- Reads and interprets corporate and business policies and applicable employment laws.
