The Role

As a Senior Associate Actuary, you will support the implementation and on-going reporting of Life principle based reserving (PBR).

Responsibilities

  • Assumption Setting Develop expertise in the Valuation Manual requirements for assumptions and pair it with business knowledge of best estimate assumptions and product mechanics to support efforts to define prudent assumptions appropriate for PBR reporting.

  • New Product Development & Implementation Be a resource in the pricing exercise to guide reserving and assumption setting and then help ensure new products are implemented as intended into inforce models

  • Reporting and Analysis Define requirements for reporting on PBR and analyzing results; partner with Modeling and Valuation to ensure these are in place and meet the needs of the Valuation Actuary

  • Establishment of Controls and Procedures Stand up a controlled reporting environment that meets the requirements of PBR reporting and Lincolns standards

  • Team Work Develop relationships with all critical parties to ensure efficiency and effectiveness for the implementation of PBR and on-going reporting in subsequent years

Education

  • Undergraduate degree or 4+years of comparable work experience; educational concentration in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, or Computer Science is preferred
  • ASA designation required; FSA preferred

Experience

  • 5 7+ years of experience years in actuarial science that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position, including 3+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience
  • Technical, programming, and modeling skills in MG-ALFA is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of Life products and general insurance/business knowledge
  • In depth understanding of Valuation Manual for Life preferred, but not required if desire to learn is high
  • A demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and/or exceeding performance expectations
  • Drives performance targets to completion#
