The Role

As the Sr. Consultant, Life Product Implementation, you will provide subject matter expertise and manage complex product driven implementations, including product development and other strategic and innovative projects for the organization.  This role includes leading broad groups, acting as the communication hub and influencing decisions.   You will also provide direction and manage the day-to-day relationship with the Third Party Administrator (TPA).   Ensure successful (time, quality, cost) implementation of the life new product releases via overall governance of all business and IT activities; Problem-solve, effectively negotiate compromises, build trusting relationships and managing people through constant change.

This position has potential to manage up to 3 direct reports.



  • Manages complex new product and rider initiatives and other product driven projects from inception through market launch.  Activities can include planning, securing resources, monitoring and overall managing the projects through completion.
  • Understands business rationale and all processes to be able to navigate and advocate on behalf of Product Management and other stakeholders.
  • Interacts and builds strong collaborative relationships with Product Management, Actuarial, Distribution, departmental staff, key business and IT partners and third party administrators.
  • Effectively negotiates to ensure timely and cost-efficient delivery of new products/riders and administrative / process enhancements.
  • Prepares and delivers complex, detailed business case documents, planning exhibits, metrics and other relevant materials; creating transparency into performance, status and overall health of the projects.
  • Influences business workflow and supports the development of and documentation of business processes.
  • Approves and signs-off on all product/rider and system enhancement implementations, as required.
  • Monitors and controls internal and external budget for IT and business services.
  • Mentors departmental staff and serves as a subject matter expert on product/rider features and concepts. Conducts trainings and prepares documentation and reference materials.
  • Manages department projects.
  • Identifies and plans for future enhancements to streamline and automate processes.



  • 4 Year Bachelors degree or 4+ years of equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors)
  • PMP or Scrum Certification preferred



  • 5 – 7+ Years of Experience in financial services and/or Insurance Industry experience.
  • 5 – 7+ Years of Experience in Life Product Implementation or similar business lead role
  • Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • People management and or managing matrix resources required
  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations.
  • Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
  • Demonstrates strong project management leadership skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with business case development.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with Tableau tools a plus
