GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Concept Validation Consultant independently conducts complex analysis to rapidly and efficiently prioritize future concepts for innovation sprints. Leads key activities deemed strategically critical and/or of highest value, including a diverse mix of designing quantitative surveys, conducting consumer experiments, performing secondary research, and creates or leverages existing models to estimate market size globally. This position will consult/analyze and deliver on more complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. S/he will also act as a resource to applicable internal/external stakeholders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as the thought leader in defining key hypotheses to test, structuring the experimentation plan, and building test stimuli. Develops business cases and obtains buy-in from senior leadership.
  • Leverages advanced methodologies and concepts to design concept validation plans, from end to end. Develop research methodology for proving/disproving hypotheses. Analyze, interpret, and present key results and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Formulates a point of view on competitive advantages by performing secondary research on competitive landscape for new innovation ideas.
  • Conducts interviews with internal/external experts and consumers to assess competitive advantages, identify additional questions to test, and verify market sizing assumptions.
  • Develops quantitative models to estimate size of opportunities, leveraging creative solutions to arrive at market size. Conducts long-term trend and market analysis for future opportunities.
  • Works across functions to define test objectives, approach and direction, working with key stakeholders to launch tests into market for assessment.
  • Develops go/no-go recommendations based on complex data to inform next steps within innovation process.
  • Assesses and creates new techniques and approaches to expand the Concept Validation capability
  • Mentors test owners from other functions, driving standardization and utilization of concept validation best practices across the organization; provides feedback on test owners analyses and recommendations
  • Consults/Analyze on more complex assignments and/or projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Serves as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments / trends for assigned area(s) or responsibility, assess the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 4 Year/Bachelors degree in business, economics, innovation or similar field or 4 years equivalent work experience in lieu of Bachelors (Minimum Required)
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role (Required)
  • Advanced knowledge in Design Thinking, Innovation, or consumer research
  • Able to synthesize facts from diverse areas to craft a story. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and analysis.
  • Creative thinker, intellectually curious, able to think outside the box, and interested in emerging technologies and innovation trends
  • Positive attitude, willingness to operate in a start-up environment and wear multiple hats
  • Solid organization, communication and presentation skills
  • Highly collaborative and strong interpersonal skills, with proven success in influencing others


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel Type: National Domestic
  • Travel Amount: up to 15%
