As an Analyst, Accounting Close, you will be responsible for activities associated with the financial close . You may provide technical accounting research and expertise while implementing and analyzing accounting policies to support the Lincoln Financial Groups goals and strategic objectives.  This role could position you for a management role in the near future along with ownership of a close process. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Close ProcessReview and approve journal entries during month end close process.
  • Variance analysis as entries are posted for real-time review of results.
  • Oversee Managed Services team supporting Line of Business
  •  

        Monitoring and Analysis 

  • Analyze line of business results to understand trends in the business and ensure the accuracy of reported results, and communicate analysis effectively to key stakeholders.
  • .Deliver internal and external reporting needs to FP&A and Business Unit partners.
  • Document execution of internal controls, and assist with design of key controls as needed. 

        Decision-making, Strategy, and Management Accounting   

  • Lead process improvements.
  • Design and lead special projects, such as to support new accounting principle implementation.
  • Provide ongoing support for partners across the organization for accounting and reporting needs.

 

Education 

  • Undergraduate degree or 4+years of comparable work experience; educational concentration in Accounting or relevant field is required.
  • Current CPA or close to obtaining CPA licensure strongly preferred.
  • Master’s degree in accounting or MBA preferred.

 

Experience 

  • 3-5+ years of experience that directly aligns with specific responsibilities of position, preferably performing external audits at a large public accounting firm and/or an accounting role with a public company.
  • Experience and/or proficiency with Hyperion Essbase and PeopleSoft general ledger preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. #LI-AY1
